What Customers Say About Okami:

It does excessive combos in the 40 and 50 range. On certain places where the bridges are knocked out you can draw lines to rebuild the bridge but in other ares the same tecnique will not work. Although the wolf would enter conversations, it was really TWILI doing the conversing, a bit more realistic. They will show you the statistic at the end. With Okami, your left relentlessy pressing the 'a' button over and over. The game is insanely repititious. Fight encounters, enter dialogue, and fight more encounters.

First off the wolf gets a shield, can open doors in town villages, and talks to people. I just wanted to state this game is not even close to Zelda. That's right, I never died in a RPG game, that's pathetic. You only have 12 or 13 techniques you can use, so you can not make your own up. I put 50 hours into this game and I died a whopping 0 times. Keep in mind I did no exploring and only bought a few weapons. Every 10 steps you take results in a dialogue. The best boss is the 8 headed dragon but when you combat the boss, only one head can attack you at a time, VERY FUN.

SPOILERS: At the end of twilight princess you fight ganon as the wolf, at the end of Okami you fight some giant ball.If you buy this game, the only weapon you need is the Holy Beeds. It could just be me, but in Twilight Princess, I recall digging holes and finding round about ways to get into houses that had closed doors. They come in handy when fighting bosses, because technically you are supposed to do certain things, such as knocking their armor off before you can damage them. Did I need to make it any easier. There are beads throughout the game that will make you invincible, but what's the point.

Regardless, the game was just way too easy and I had no reason to upgrade any of my weapons anyway. Yes, you do fight a lot in zelda, but it usually only results in one or two hits from your sword. In Okami, the encounters involve numerous black scrolls throughout the game that will chase you and forces you into battle with 3 or more enemies. I bought this game becuase some people felt it was far superior to zelda. I saved so much money that I was able to buy about 40 top of the line bombs.

The game also has a crappy glitch. However, if you get these bombs and use them, it will drain their health guage down pretty quickly.Trust me zelda is far superior. If you are looking for a game where you can throw a shield and explore different areas just buy Maximo or Rygar. The game has some inconsistences with this as well.

Additionally, I personally did not like the graphics and the dialogue was comparible to Final Fantasy, except with Final Fantasy you could leave, eat lunch, come back, and the cutscene would be over. But, again, I was mislead on other comments. Eventually they will throw in a boss where you collect an item an item and return it to someone in the village. All the health bars are enormous but it does not add to its difficulty, only its boredom.

The only uniqueness is the ability to draw different lines which creates puzzles for the games and can render additional damage to enemies. It's actually a pretty linear game and does not allow the gamer to invoke his or her own imagination.

yes really. I thought it was boring. it just never picked up and there was endless story in it, but who wants to read all that stuff. not recommended for people who read books and play games to have fun.

When I watched the little video clips of this game I didn't understand how this game was supposed to work with this paint brush thing. And, anyway that will be relieving to you because the rest of the game is very challenging. This is what you need to know. If you were disappointed that Twilight Princess ever had to end then this should be your next game. Incredible game. Also, whenever you want to make straight lines, then all you have to do is hold down the Z Button while you slash and it will connect every time with no difficulty. [and you will] the bosses are not difficult but they are VERY FUN. It took me 65 hours to finish this game [70 hours for Twilight Princess] so it is very very long, but I do like to do a lot of exploring and always try to find out everything for myself rather than checking out the walk-through, go here [if you need it] [.].

I know this because the first 3 hours of this game are essentially nothing more than dialogue and not much else, so just wait it out because the rest of the game is worth it. But, in this game that is not the case this wolf has all kinds of bad ass weapons that can be upgraded and upgraded over and over again. I loved it. The downsides are this, I will admit that it took me 3 hours to understand why it was that everyone liked this game so much. And after playing Twilight Princess I didn't understand how a wolf could make a very good principle character because the wolf on Twilight Princess wasn't so great at battling. This world is so vast and there are so many side quests and worlds and secrets and abilities to obtain, it's awesome. 2nd most of the brush strokes and techniques are very difficult and frustrating to pull off - here is a BIG TIP - make sure that whenever your drawing circles the most important thing is not that they are perfect circles but that the ends meet EXACTLY so just slow down at the end of the technique to make sure that they do. So, ONLY 2 DOWNSIDES, TOO MUCH DIALOGUE and BRUSH TECHNIQUES that are DIFFICULT and can be VERY FRUSTRATING.

What I Wish I Would Have Known: Use the 'z' button on the nunchuk when doing straight lines. Pretty much one story line but it continues. So many different characters to talk to, and there is more than a touch of humor. Cons: No speaking voices. The bug talks the whole time, but you can push the '+' button to get past most of the chatter and scenes. Yes, they can be difficult at times, but you won't get carpal tunnel from it. Innnovative controls.

Great history lesson if you're in to Japanese mythology. So many things you can concentrate on; chests, feeding animals.take your pick. Pros: Long (and I mean long, 51 hrs to complete) game. Ability to beat the game, then start over with collected items to try and get all the extra pts. at the end. When they translated it from Japanese they just did the words and not the voices. Your goal is to get 13 brushstrokes. If you do a lot, don't save, and then die, you're goin' back to the beginning.

Also, sidequests contribute. It works so much better then the 'A' button. Not the regular computer graphics. It is the way it is to emphasize the Japanese calligraphy and drawing. Saving is essential. You don't get the 13th until you're in the (6th) last battle.

Our 9 and 11 year old girls just love this game. I'm a big fan of games like this for that very reason. No blood and guts.

They would rent it every month or so until I put a stop to it saying we could have bought 2 copies by now. Consequently the girls are learning a little bit about another culture as they play. They heard about it from a cousin and then found it at Blockbuster for rent.

The game is created in Japanese and translated to this English version. It turns out it was harder to find than I imagined. Thanks Amazon. The game play from what I have seen is fairly imersive and any violence is pretty toned down so okay for kids.

Reading is required to understand your missions or quests and the better you read the better you'll understand them. It teaches children that reading is more than a task, it's fun.I am very pleased with this title.
